Both companies attended meetings of the Seymour City Council in November to request, and receive, tax abatements.

Pet Supplies Plus (PSP), located at 1510 East Fourth Street at Seymour’s East Side Industrial Park, plans the purchase new logistical and information technology equipment to increase the number of products it ships from its facility.

PSP will invest $1.6 million in IT equipment and $4.9 million on logistics equipment; the company received a 5-year abatement on IT equipment and 10-year on the logistics purchase.

The project will result in the company retaining its current workforce of 250 employees and hiring an additional 75, which will generate $2.62 million in annual salaries.

In addition, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered PSP $500,000 in EDGE tax credits.

Excel Manufacturing, also located at the East Side Park, will be purchasing new CNC manufacturing equipment that will allow the company to retain its 89 employees and create one new job.
