Spec Building Planned for Seymour East Side Park

TDAK Development has announced plans to construct another “spec” building at Seymour’s East Side Industrial Park.

At the March 23 meeting of the Seymour City Council, TDAK was granted 10-year abatement for the construction of a 60,000 square foot building, estimated to cost $2.5 million.

Andy Royalty, president of TDAK, hopes to begin construction in May, 2020 with completion by the end of 3rd quarter on the building which will be located on an 8-1/2 acre site on Hartsell Drive. It will be adjacent to the previous “spec” building constructed by Royalty, which currently is being leased to Aisin U.S.A.

The new building will have 32-foot eave height and 3 truck docks, and is being designed to accommodate up to 10,000 square feet of office space and an additional 20,000 square feet of manufacturing/warehousing space.

“This certainly is welcome news for our region,” said Jim Plump, executive director of JCIDC. “Space is at a premium right now throughout South Central Indiana. Knowing the type of building that Andy will construct should make this very attractive for our existing industrial base that might need additional room or for a new company looking to establish a presence in Indiana.”
