City of Madison and Habitat for Humanity Join Forces to Build Housing

In July, the City of Madison Redevelopment Commission entered into an Economic Development Agreement with Habitat for Humanity of Jefferson County to complete the infrastructure extension of Beech Grove Street.

This partnership will foster economic development and housing in Madison, and is another exciting step in accomplishing our economic growth and opportunity goals. Habitat for Humanity works in Jefferson County to bring more affordable housing to our community.

The developer intends to build 6 homes no smaller than 1200SF by June 2025, in addition to finishing three houses on Green Road with paved driveways. The Redevelopment Commission will be contributing $150,000 to the infrastructure improvements. As this improves the quality of life in our community, the City will mill and pave Beech Grove Street and replace/repair the existing sidewalks at the time of completion.
