In 1999, Indiana ranked 15th in the U.S. in cash receipts from the sale of all commodities; crop sales amounted to $2.7 billion dollars (10th in the nation) and livestock sales amounted to $1.5 billion dollars (23rd in the nation). In 1998, farmers had cash receipts from the sale of all commodities (crops and livestock) totaling $4.883 billion dollars.
